Question 1

What types of metal scrap and materials does 800 Scrap purchase?

Accepted Answer

We specialize in purchasing a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous metal scrap. This includes insulated electrical cabling, bare copper wire, aluminum profiles, stainless steel offcuts, brass foundry scrap, heavy structural steel, redundant factory machinery, and obsolete server room IT hardware. Review our detailed services directory to see the full list of materials accepted at our yard.

Question 2

Do you charge any logistics or transport fees for scrap collection?

Accepted Answer

No. We provide free scrap collection and hauling across Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and the wider UAE. For commercial and industrial properties, our team coordinates the logistics completely—including flatbed cranes, loaders, or container placements—at zero cost, provided the materials meet our minimum commercial weight thresholds.

Question 3

How are your buying rates determined for scrap recyclables?

Accepted Answer

Our commercial valuation structures track current global market spot rates on the London Metal Exchange (LME). This ensures that you receive the most accurate and fair market pricing for your metals on any given day. For large industrial assets, we coordinate weighing through approved local weighbridge networks to provide transparent, printed tickets.

Question 4

Do you coordinate JAFZA, SAIF Zone, or KIZAD gate pass clearances?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our specialized logistics desk coordinates all required Gate Passes, transport NOCs, and customs paperwork internally for major industrial free zones like Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), SAIF Zone, KEZAD, and RAKEZ. We manage the administrative clearances so that your facility exit remains compliant with local regulatory policies, saving your team administrative overhead.

Question 5

Can you handle secure, certified data destruction for corporate offices?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Corporate electronics disposal and sensitive data security are treated with strict confidentiality. We execute physical hard drive (HDD) shredding and solid-state drive (SSD) sanitization at our facility. Following secure destruction, we issue a formal Certificate of Destruction to verify your organization’s compliance with local waste management data policies.

Question 6

Is there a minimum weight requirement for scheduling a free scrap collection?

Accepted Answer

Yes. For our commercial fleet to schedule a free, on-site pickup, we usually require a minimum weight (typically starting from 500 kg to 1 tonne, depending on the material type). If you have smaller, residential quantities, you are always welcome to bring them directly to our central yard in Sharjah for instant weighing and grading.

Question 7

What payment methods do you offer upon material collection?

Accepted Answer

We prioritize secure, immediate transactions. Once your materials are graded and weighed on our digital scales, we can issue settlement via instant cash, corporate bank transfers, or official company cheques, depending on your company's accounting preference.

Question 8

Do you recycle household appliances (refrigerators, AC units, washing machines)?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We buy and collect large consumer household appliances, including air conditioning compressors, refrigerators, and metal-cased machinery. These are safely stripped down at our facility to separate valuable copper and aluminum components from plastic housings.

Question 9

How long is a commercial metal scrap price quotation valid?

Accepted Answer

Because raw copper and metal scrap valuations are indexed to the London Metal Exchange (LME), pricing is subject to daily global market fluctuations. Standard price quotes are typically valid for 24 to 48 hours. For long-term contracting clients or massive facility strip-outs, we can lock in specific index-linked equations.

Question 10

Do you provide scrap collection services on weekends or after standard business hours?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We understand that shopping mall strip-outs, office server room migrations, and heavy industrial plant dismantling often must take place outside of busy business hours to avoid operational downtime. Our logistics team can schedule weekend, holiday, or late-night dispatches with prior coordination. Contact our contact desk to set up a scheduled dispatch.
